Pre-Press

GSI Technologies operates a full-service, in-house Macintosh-based pre-press department which produces artwork, films, plates and screens. This capability means we can provide fast, inexpensive turn-around for those inevitable last-minute changes.

GSI’s Pre-Press Department Offers:

  • Design/layout/typesetting by professional in-house artists
  • State-of-the-art computer system hardware:
    • Multiple Macintosh stations
    • High-Speed Internet and E-mail [artproof@GSITech.com] for receiving/sending rush artwork
    • Scanner (300 to 1200 dpi within 8.5 x 11" page size)
    • Postscript laser printer for laser proofs
    • Ink jet color printer for detailed color sep proofs and color copies upon request
  • Software programs compatible with IBM/PC versions for supplied Illustrator® or Freehand® files (See ARTWORK POLICY & PROCEDURES for details). Supplied artwork should be emailed directly to artproof@GSITech.com with your company name and the part number being ordered.
  • Paperless Proofing System - If you wish to receive a proof, please advise if you prefer an electronic file, fax or film positive. If you request an electronic file, all you need to do is verify your company can accept PDF files and supply the email address approvals should be sent to. Approvals can be electronically signed with Adobe Acrobat Writer and returned by email or print, sign and fax back the approvals.
  • In-house barcode creating software and verifier adds various types of codes to art files for time and cost savings.
  • Extensive typestyle library and Agfa and Adobe "Type On Call" font accessibility within 24 hrs. Check FONT LIST or call to see if we have compatible fonts for your supplied files (*Fonts not for resale)
  • High resolution image-setter (2540+dpi) outputs first generation film directly from Macintoshes.
  • All art generated by GSI or supplied by customers is saved to a server for quick revisions and style reference of similar parts - all files are backed up regularly and stored in a fireproof cabinet as well as an off site location.
