For these diversified customers, GSI’s products identify and protect switches, provide operational instructions, indicate where to lubricate and service the equipment, and warn against dangerous operating activities.
Large and small Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) have unique label product applications and stringent supply needs with quality requirements that must be met consistently with no supply chain disruptions. GSI has served this label market segment for 30 years and has developed strong supply chain management solutions for this important sector. We offer:
Our products must do their job for the life of our customers’ equipment, under exposure to severe heat or cold, harsh chemicals, lubricants and cleaning compounds. Our broad selection of paper, film and foil base materials, custom adhesives, over-laminates, UV flexo and screen inks and varnishes, and a variety of UL, cUL, and CSA approved printing and fabricating processes allows GSI to provide custom solutions that are both functional and cost effective. Tolerance requirements for GSI products in these applications are measured in thousandths of an inch.
GSI redesigned an identification product for a leading maker of wiring systems, changing the material and the manufacturing method. We tested the new design with our customer and assisted with implementing the changeover to the new product. The first year cost savings were tens of thousands of dollars…on what had been thought of as a necessary but low-value commodity item.
Case Study: A Cost-Saving Display
GSI proposed that our customer, a best-of-class maker of commercial and industrial fire protection systems, consider changing from metal plates used to display operating information for their systems, to a sturdy plastic material. We worked with our customer through design and engineering, prototyping, testing and change-over to the new product. This customer realized ongoing savings of over 30% on this redesigned part – savings which continue to accrue annually.
